Amarillo Homeowner Shot in Emerald Court Robbery

A homeowner was shot on Tuesday night during a robbery in the 6700 block of Emerald Court.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, on Tuesday, September 17th, at 10:07PM, officers were called to a residence in the 6700 block of Emerald Court where a homeowner had been shot by a suspect. When officers arrived, they met with the victim who had been alerted by his dog that someone might be on the property. The resident told officers that he armed himself and went into his garage, where he found the suspect, described as a Hispanic male with tattoos wearing a red shirt, inside of his garage.

The victim told officers that the suspect shot him and then he shot back, at which point the suspect fled the scene. The homeowner was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body.

This case remains under investigation.
