APD: Arrest Made in Hoots Pub Stabbing

Authorities are reporting that an arrest has been made as part of an investigation into a stabbing in Amarillo.

On Wednesday, July 14th, at 2:24AM, officers were dispatched to a fight in the parking lot of Hoots Pub on Hobbs Street. When officers arrived, it took several minutes for all subjects involved to be separated. During this time, officers were advised of a stabbing victim who had been transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. Officers also were informed of a private video taken at the scene of the incident.

Authorities say the suspect in the investigation, April Woods, 23, has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Woods was already in jail on an unrelated charge and APD says the Aggravated Assault charge will be added.

The victim in the incident had non-life threatening injuries and was treated before being released from the hospital, APD says.
