Ex-Starbucks CEO to Visit Texas Amid Presidential Bid Consideration

A billionaire businessman who is currently mulling a possible independent bid for president will be in Texas next week.

On Tuesday, February 12th, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz will be in Houston for a televised town hall with CNN, as he mulls a possible bid for president in 2020. Schultz, a former Democrat, announced recently that he is considering jumping into the presidential race as an independent in 2020, citing his disagreements with Democrats on issues like taxes and healthcare. Schultz was previously rumored to be considering running for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

During the CNN event, guests will have the chance to ask Schultz questions about issues of national importance. This will be one of Schultz’s first major question and answer events as a prospective candidate, as he has been touring the country to promote his new book, From the Ground Up.

Schultz’s event will be moderated by CNN’s Poppy Harlow.
