Diane Knowlton has become the latest Republican to launch a bid in hopes of replacing retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon).

Knowlton launched her bid for Thornberry’s seat last week and has already filed for her spot on the ballot, according to the Texas Republican Party. Knowlton is an attorney from Henrietta and holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Knowlton is also a certified public accountant.

The attorney joins a long list of Republicans already running for the 13th Congressional District seat. Two Democrats are also running.

Candidates have until December 9 to file for a spot on the ballot.
