Amarillo Native Loses Statewide Primary in Florida

An Amarillo native narrowly lost his bid for the Republican Party's nomination for Florida Attorney General.

On Tuesday night, Florida State Representative Frank White, an Amarillo native, narrowly lost his bid for the Republican nomination for attorney general. As of Tuesday night, White won 43 percent of the vote to Judge Ashley Moore's 57 percent.

White and Moore had been competing in one of the most high profile contests in Florida for the upcoming midterm, as both candidates were looking to replace the retiring Attorney General, Republican Pam Bondi on the ballot.

Moore will go on to face Democrat Sean Shaw and independent Jeffrey Siskind in the November general election.
