Trustees for the Amarillo Independent School District will consider voting to approve a compensation plan for Amarillo teachers on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, trustees will meet in a special meeting to consider the compensation plan for Amarillo ISD teachers for the upcoming year. Trustees will be voting on the plan, following a discussion on the 2018-2019 Amarillo ISD budget.
Teacher pay in Amarillo is a hot topic, as members of the Amarillo Education Association have been pushing for a pay increase for local teachers. Members of the Association are expected to wear blue clothes during tomorrow's meeting to show support for a teacher pay increase in Amarillo.
The meeting will be held at 4:30pm on Wednesday, May 30th in the Board Room of the Amarillo ISD Education Support Center (7200 Interstate 40 West).
