The Amarillo Police Department is investigating an accident that took place at Hastings and Echo.
According to APD, officers were dispatched at 1:25pm on Thursday to Hastings and Echo on the report of two vehicles involved in an accident. A white Chevrolet passenger van was travelling westbound on Hastings. A white City of Amarillo dump truck was travelling northbound on Echo. The dump truck appears to have not stopped at a stop sign and struck the van in the intersection.
All six passengers in the van, including the driver, were transported to local hospitals. The dump truck driver was uninjured.
APD's Traffic Followup Team is investigating this incident.
