Motorcycle Riders Sent to Hospital with Life Threatening Injuries

Two motorcycle riders have been sent to an Amarillo hospital with life threatening injuries following a wreck on Thursday night.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, at 10:13pm, officers were sent to the 700 block of West 10th Avenue on the report of a motorcycle crash. A 2005 Harley Davidson, driven by a 46-year-old male, was eastbound in the left lane of 10th Avenue, attempting to make a U-turn. A 2009 Harley Davidson, driven by a 41-year-old male, attempted to pass the other motorcycle in the left lane. The 2009 Harley struck the 2005 Harley.

Both riders were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Neither driver was wearing a helmet. Alcohol is believed to be a factor, according to APD.

This incident is still under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department.
