Canyon Police to Host Citizens Academy

Canyon residents interested in learning more about the Canyon Police Department can attend a citizens' academy that will be held in March.

According to the Canyon Police Department, officers are currently seeking residents who are interested in participating in the academy. The second annual academy will allow residents to find out more about what happens at the Police Department in Canyon.

In order to be eligible to participate, you must adhere to certain requirements. Those requirements are:

  • Must be 21 years or older

  • Must Live or work inside the city limits of Canyon

  • No Felony convictions

  • No outstanding warrants

  • No Class B misdemeanors or higher within the past 3 years

  • Must be able to attend at least 70% of the classes

Applications for the academy can be picked up at the Canyon Police Department (301 16th Street).
