Amarillo Residents Pack Super Bowl Parties

Super Bowl parties were an active site across Amarillo as local football fans gathered to watch the New England Patriots take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

At multiple restaurants across Amarillo, football fans gathered to watch the two top teams in the NFL duke it out. Restaurants and bars were packed as the biggest game of the year raged on.

Some fans also chose to take food home for the game. The general manager of the On The Border restaurant on Soncy told the Amarillo Pioneer that the scene was "chaos" prior to the start of the game, with fans picking up to-go orders for the big game.

While many watched the game, others chose to boycott the NFL's Super Bowl 52. Many boycotted the game due to political statements made by players earlier in the season.

In the end, the Patriots were toppled by the Eagles, 41-33.
