Civic Center Seeking State Funds for WRCA Rodeo

The City of Amarillo could be seeking state funds to help facilitate the World Championship Ranch Rodeo for 2018.

According to an item from the City Council's Tuesday meeting agenda, Sherman Bass, manager of the Amarillo Civic Center Complex, is planning to address the Amarillo City Council for a request to seek state funds for the rodeo. Members of the City Council will then decide whether the City of Amarillo will seek funds from the State of Texas to help facilitate the rodeo for this year.

Also on Tuesday, Michelle Bonner, deputy city manager, will address the City Council regarding seeking state funds for the American Quarter Horse Association Adequan Select World Championship Show.

Both items will be decided at Tuesday's meeting of the Amarillo City Council. The City Council will meet at 5pm in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue).
