AC to Observe Accelerate Texas

Each November, colleges in Texas celebrate Accelerate TEXAS, an adult-education initiative aimed at putting people to work or into better jobs through events sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Amarillo College will observe Accelerate TEXAS on Wednesday, Nov. 7 by presenting Industry Showcases within three separate academic communities – Business Management and Technology, Industry, and Healthcare – on three Amarillo campuses.

The Showcases are designed to give adult students a firsthand look at academic certificate programs into which they can transition seamlessly and position themselves to take advantage of high-demand career opportunities.

AC’s participating adult students are those presently studying English as a Second Language, or pursuing High School Equivalency credentials, or attending college-readiness courses.

The AC Showcases will be offered in the morning, and students can choose to attend the Showcase that best corresponds with their interests.
