Convention Board to Consider Approving $50k Bid for AQHA Rodeo

Members of the Amarillo Convention and Visitors Council Board are considering approving a $50,000 offering for three years for the American Quarter Horse Association show to be held in Amarillo.

According to an agenda posted to amarillo.gov, the CVC board will be considering approving the $50,000 offering for three years in a bid by Amarillo to host the AQHA Select World Championship for three years, beginning in 2019. If approved by the board, the $50,000 offering will move forward as the City of Amarillo attempts to retain the rodeo for future years.

Also during the meeting, board members will hold a public forum.

The meeting will be held at 8:15am in the Board Room of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce building (1000 S. Polk) on Thursday, February 2nd.
