Buchanan Street will soon be closing for maintenance.
On September 12th, Buchanan Street will close between 11th and 6th avenues for profile mill and overlay operations, according to the City of Amarillo. Northbound traffic will be diverted to Fillmore and traffic exiting I-40 to downtown will be detoured to Johnson Street. Drivers should expect construction at 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th avenues.
The work is expected to be completed within three weeks.
