Marvin "Bubba" Dickson was elected as the new mayor for the City of Borger during this week's council meeting.
Since Borger citizens do not elect a mayor, a mayor is chosen by the city council from the five council members who are elected at-large. Dickson was chosen by the council to take the office of mayor, succeeding businessman Robert L. Vineyard in the role.
Dickson has been a council member for several years in Borger and served as mayor pro-tem before being selected by the council.
