APD Investigators Make Arrest in Paramount Robbery Case

"On 6-4-17, at 11:09 PM, officers were dispatched to the Toot ‘n Totum store at 2601 Paramount Boulevard on a robbery.

The female employee reported that the suspect approached from the south. He entered the store with a handgun in his hand. He approached the counter and pointed the gun at her, demanding money from the register. The victim took the money out of the register and handed it to the suspect. The suspect then left the store and was last seen going west from the business.

The robber was a white male about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was described as having a slim build, and had light colored hair visible, though he had what appeared to be a pair of blue jeans wrapped around his head to cover his face. He was wearing a black and blue shirt and black shorts. No one was injured in the robbery.

Robbery investigators were able to link Aries Allen Bowles age 17 to this robbery. They secured warrant 73967-Z charging Bowles with aggravated robbery.

On 6-6-17, at about 7:45 PM, (initial release stated it was in the afternoon) APD ProActive Criminal Enforcement and SWAT officers located Bowles walking in the 500 block of S. Kentucky. He was arrested without incident.

Investigators learned that the handgun used in the robbery had been sold. They contacted the person that now had the gun and he turned it over to officers. The handgun was listed as stolen from a home in the 2700 block of S. Jackson in a burglary a few days ago.

Bowles was booked into the Potter County Detention Center."
