Ellis County Escapee Captured

An inmate who escaped from the Ellis County Sheriff's Department custody has been captured.

David Weldon Rowe, 67, was captured after escaping from the Ellis County custody. According to the Sheriff's Department, Rowe walked away from the weed-eating detail shortly after 10am on Monday. The search for Rowe focused on an area near Waxahachie near FM 1446 and Lone Elm Road, according to CBSDFW. Traffic was backed up as officers searched vehicles and homes for Rowe.

Helicopters, horses and dogs were used in the manhunt for Rowe. Rowe was captured this afternoon after sleeping in an RV in the area last night.
