Animal Management and Welfare to Hold Community Meetings

The Amarillo Department of Animal Management and Welfare will soon be holding a series of community meetings regarding proposed ordinance changes.

The meetings, which will begin on Wednesday, May 3rd, will center around proposed changes to the Amarillo Municipal Code Chapter 8-2. The changes specifically refer to amendments that would establish animal trapping standards and another amendment that would establish a rooster to hen percentage.

AAM&W's meetings are open to the public and will include a presentation from City staff regarding the changes.

The first meeting will take place Wednesday, May 3rd at noon. The second meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 10th at 6pm.

Both meetings will be held at the Downtown Public Library (413 SE 4th Avenue).
