APD Searches for Suspect in Shots Fired Case

The Amarillo Police Department is searching for a suspect in a shots fired case.

On Monday, officers were dispatched to the area of North Grand and Amarillo Boulevard on the report of shots being fired. Witnesses said the driver of a red Ford Crown Victoria was firing out of the window of the vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle driving east on Northeast Third Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, eventually hitting a curb under the bridge at Northeast 3rd Avenue and Grand St.

The passenger of the vehicle tried to flee the scene and was taken into custody.

The suspect is described as being 5'5" and 5'8" with a skinny build. The suspect was seen wearing a blue tank top and blue jeans.
