RV Catches Fire In Public Steel Building

A fire broke out Saturday night at the Public Steel building.

On Saturday night, firefighters and other first responders were dispatched to the Public Steel building at 1012 SW 4th Avenue. Responders arrived at the scene to find a fire inside of the unoccupied structure.

Firefighters forced entry into the building and found a recreational vehicle on fire within the structure. AFD firefighters fought the fire and it was called under control at 9:43pm. No injuries were reported from the fire. Firefighters defeated the blaze in 43 minutes, after arrival time.

It was determined that the fire originated from a refrigerator within the RV.

The total cost of damages from the fire is currently undetermined. Throughout the course of the fire, 30 firefighters and 9 units were on scene.
