APD Investigating Sunday Robbery

"On March 25th at 1:23 AM, APD officers were dispatched to the CEFCO at 1917 Bell Street on a delayed robbery.

The victims were a seventeen and an eighteen year old male. The two victims were about to enter the store when they were approached by a male. The male told the victims that if they would buy him cigarettes and meet him in the neighborhood behind the store that he would pay them back. The victims bought the cigarettes and followed the suspect into the neighborhood, a couple of blocks to the east of the store. The suspect got out of his car and into the car with the victims. The suspect put his hand in his pocket and told the victims that he had a gun. The suspect took the cigarettes, money, and personal items from the victims. The suspect then got back into the driver seat of his car and left.

He is described as a black male in his twenties. He is about 5’11’’ tall, with what was described as a short afro haircut. The suspect was wearing a red and black jacket and black pants. The suspect vehicle is described as an early 2000 model Ford Mustang with a faded maroon paint job. There was possibly a second male in the passenger seat of the Mustang. The victims did not receive any injuries from the incident.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Amarillo Police Department or Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400. Tips can be made anonymously online at www.amapolice.org."
