Clock Ticking for Potential City Candidates

If you want to run for City office in the May 6th election, your time is running out to get on the ballot.

Candidates for Amarillo ISD Board of Trustees, Amarillo College Board of Regents and Amarillo City Council must be filed for the ballot by 5pm tomorrow. Candidates who do not have the necessary paperwork filed then will not appear on the ballot.

In the Amarillo ISD race, four candidates are currently filed, while six candidates are vying to Amarillo College spots. Every race for City Council also has at least one candidate vying for a spot.

Applications to run for City Council are available through the City Secretary's office. Applications for the school board races will be available through the schools' offices.
