The Amarillo Police Department is reporting that one person has died following a car collision in the Quail Creek area.
According to APD, on Tuesday night, officers were dispatched to the area of Quail Creek and Southwest 9th Avenue on a vehicle accident. When officers arrived, they found that a vehicle had been traveling eastbound on Southwest 9th Avenue. A 60-year-old man was crossing Southwest 9th Avenue and was not using a crosswalk. The vehicle stuck then struck the man.
The man who was struck by the vehicle later died from his injuries.
APD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
