City Council to Launch Beautification Board

Members of the Amarillo City Council will consider creating a new advisory board on Tuesday night.

According to an agenda posted by City officials, members of the City Council will consider giving approval to the creation of a Beautification and Public Arts Advisory Board. If approved, the board will be established "to promote and encourage programs to enhance the City's appearance, development of public arts, art in public places and to raise awareness and appreciation of the value of art in public places."

During the meeting, city manager Jared Miller will deliver a presentation on the board. The proposition will have its first reading on Tuesday and must pass an additional second reading before members may be appointed.

Also on Tuesday night, the City Council will consider approving a reimbursement for the Working Ranch Cowboys Association for the WRCA 2017 Ranch Rodeo. The Council will also consider approving a consent agenda and an expansion of the Parks and Recreation board.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, December 5th in the City Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 SE 7th Avenue). The meeting begins at 5pm.
