City Council to Consider Filling Spots on Boards

Members of the City Council will consider filling spots on several City advisory boards during a meeting on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, City Councilmembers will consider approving the appointment of several persons to spots on City advisory boards. The boards cover various fields and Councilmembers have left many of the spots open in anticipation of appointing all the open spots at one time.

City of Amarillo staff collected applications until November 1st for all vacant boards. Some boards will also have current members who will be eligible for reappointment.

Boards needing appointment include:

  • Airport Advisory Board

  • Amarillo Hospital District Board of Directors

  • Amarillo Local Government Corporation

  • Board of Review - Landmarks & Historic District

  • Canadian River Municipal Water Authority

  • Colonies Public Improvement District Advisory Board

  • Community Development Advisory Committee

  • Convention & Visitor Council

  • East Gateway Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #2

  • Environmental Task Force

  • Greenways Public Improvement District

  • Heritage Hills Public Improvement District Advisory Board

  • Parks and Recreation Board

  • Planning and Zoning Commission

  • Point West Improvement District Advisory Board

  • Traffic Advisory Board

  • Zoning Board of Adjustment

  • Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities

  • Amarillo Economic Development Corporation

  • Center City Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #1 Board of Directors

  • Condemnation Appeals Commission

  • Construction Advisory & Appeals Board

  • Council Audit Committee

Also during the meeting, City Councilmembers will consider approving the purchase of several items, including a security system and dumpsters.

The meeting will be held at Amarillo City Hall (509 SE 7th Avenue) on Tuesday, November 28th. A work session begins at 2:30pm and the regular meeting will follow soon after, according to the City of Amarillo.
