WTAMU Police to Host Active Shooter Training

Next month, the West Texas A&M University Police Department will hold a public active shooter training course.

According to officials from the University Police Department, the course will provide updates techniques and training in the Avoid, Deny and Defend strategies developed by the ALERRT Center at Texas State University. The training will feature information for educational institutions, commerce locations, houses of worship and many other settings.

The training will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, December 5th at the Cole Community Center in Canyon.
