Local Drivers Concerned About Truck Thefts

A string of truck thefts in Amarillo have left some drivers on edge.

Several trucks have been stolen in Amarillo over the past week. One victim of the truck thefts told the Amarillo Pioneer that Amarillo Police said that the thefts have been ongoing in Amarillo for sometime.

"They said that this is one of a bunch of thefts they have had reported in the last few days," the victim told the Amarillo Pioneer.

According to those affected, thieves have been breaking into 1990's model pickup trucks and stealing the vehicles. Trucks have been stolen from parking lots, driveways and businesses in Amarillo.

The string of thefts have left some concerned for the safety of their vehicles. One person, who chose to remain anonymous, said that they have parked their truck inside of a garage to keep it away from thieves as the auto thefts have been ongoing in Amarillo.
