Strange Weather Hits Panhandle

A wild weekend of weather recently hit the Texas Panhandle and Amarillo.

The weather ranged from thunderstorms to snow over the weekend, beginning with a light drizzle on Friday. The drizzle then turned into snow, thunderstorm, and hail. Dozens of trees lost limbs throughout the weekend, and many homes reported power outages.

A drive through Amarillo's historic Wolflin neighborhood features displays of the weekend's weather. Some homes have ice and snow in the front yards, others have a spotless yard, and some have broken limbs dawning the yards of the homes.

Weather is expected to be warmer this week. Thursday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with a forecasted high of 58 degrees.
