Senator Van Taylor, of Plano, will seek a United States Congressional seat in 2018, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Taylor will be seeking the seat currently held by Congressman Sam Johnson. Johnson will be retiring in 2018.
Taylor has not yet made an official announcement. Taylor currently serves as Texas state senator. Prior to 2015, Taylor served as state representative from 2010 to 2015.
