The Amarillo City Council will consider approving an agreement with Southwestern Public Service, during their Tuesday meeting.
The City Council will vote on the agreement between the Alliance of XCEL Municipalities and Southwestern Public Service Company, regarding SPS's intent to increase electric rates. SPS's current intent is to increase rates by about 7%, according to City documents.
During the Tuesday meeting, the Council will also approve several rezoning ordinances, a consent agenda, and several items that will be appearing for their second reading.
The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall (509 SE 7th Avenue.)
The meeting will begin at 5pm, while a work session will also begin at 4pm.
