Submit an Opinion (For Political Candidates ONLY)
Since The Amarillo Pioneer’s launch in 2016, we have had an open policy of accepting op-eds for publication submitted by all candidates running for office in the Amarillo area. We are continuing this tradition, subject to a few criteria:
All op-eds must be submitted by the candidate or a member of the candidate’s campaign team.
The contact email for the submission must be from an email address publicly associated with the candidate’s campaign. PLEASE NOTE: This email will not be shared with the public.
The submission must include a phone number, which will not be shared with the public.
Op-eds will be accepted for publication on a case-by-case basis. While we generally will accept most op-eds, all items submitted for publication must meet our editorial standards.
Upon acceptance of the op-ed, we will notify the candidate by phone and/or in writing of our decision to publish the opinion piece.
Once published, the op-ed may not be retracted, except in extraordinary circumstances.
