Amarillo mayoral candidate Jason Herrick is bringing in some big money ahead of the May 3rd municipal election.
According to campaign finance reports filed Thursday, Herrick reported raising $317,683.98, with $274,205 of that coming in monetary contributions. The majority of the rest of his contributions came as in-kind donations from a PAC formed, in-part, to support his candidacy, Growing Amarillo Jobs PAC.
Herrick’s largest individual donor was Edward Bradley, who contributed $20,000. Several individuals also gave Herrick at least $10,000, including the Amarillo Association of Realtors.
Meanwhile, Herrick’s chief opponent, Mayor Cole Stanley, reported raising $73,550 for his re-election bid. Alex Fairly was Stanley’s top donor, contributing $50,000 to the incumbent’s efforts.
Herrick ended the finance period with more money on hand — $200,237, compared to Stanley’s $65,181.
Misty Collier and Luke Marek, the two other candidates in the race, did not have campaign finance reports available as of press time.
