City of Amarillo Names Gagnon as Chief Information Officer

City officials have tapped Rich Gagnon to serve as Amarillo’s new Managing Director/Chief Information Officer.

According to the City of Amarillo, Gagnon has been named the new Managing Director/Chief Information Officer for the City. Prior to today’s announcement, Gagnon’s most recent position with the City of Amarillo was as Chief Information Officer and Director of Information Technology.

“I was seeking the opportunity to serve the community I call home in a greater capacity,” Gagnon said in a statement. “It is an honor and a privilege to expand my role at the city as part of the city management team.”

Gagnon will oversee several departments, including Information Technology, Emergency Operations, the Amarillo Public Library, and the development of new programs such as 311 and broadband. Gagnon holds a Bachelors of Business Management from Colorado Technical University and attended Thayer Leadership Development Group at West Point.
