The Amarillo City Council will vote on Tuesday on giving a final approval to a tax increase for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Council has previously voted in favor of the tax increase unanimously twice, but will give the final approval to the issue during Tuesday’s tax hearing at the Amarillo Civic Center Grand Plaza. The new proposed tax rate of $0.39681 per $100 valuation would result in an effective tax increase of 4.23 percent.

City Council will also vote on ratifying the City of Amarillo’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Tuesday.

The meeting will begin at 12pm on Tuesday, September 15. For additional information, visit Amarillo.gov.
