Amarillo College, Palo Duro Grad Expected Addition to UFC Fight Night Lineup

A women’s strawweight bout between Amarillo College graduate Jinh Yu Frey and Loma Lookboonmee is being targeted for a UFC Fight Night event on October 3, according to reports.

It was reported last week that about between Frey, a graduate of Palo Duro High School and AC, and Lookboonmee is being targeted for the event. The bout has not been officially confirmed, but was reported as being targeted late last month by multiple MMA news sources. It is unclear where the event will be held or what bout will serve as the event headliner.

Frey’s sole appearance in the UFC Octagon to this point came against Kay Hansen on the undercard of UFC on ESPN: Poirier vs. Hooker. In that appearance, Frey lost the bout in the third round via armbar submission.

In addition to her nine successful trips to the cage, Frey is a decorated mixed martial artist, being a former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion.

Regardless of the details of the bout, if the bout materializes, it is expected to air on ESPN+, the subscription streaming service operated by the sports network.
