U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) is throwing his support behind Ronny Jackson in the July 14 runoff election for U.S. House District 13.

Hawley announced his support for Jackson on Twitter over the weekend, calling the former White House physician a “strong leader, proud veteran,” and posting a photo of Jackson’s campaign headquarters in Amarillo.

“He will be much-needed change in the US House,” Hawley said in the post.

The Missouri Senator is the latest nationally known politician to throw their weight behind Jackson, joining a number of other Republican elected officials.

Early voting in the U.S. House District 13 election runs through July 10, with Election Day scheduled for July 14. The winner of the runoff between Jackson and former lobbyist Josh Winegarner will advance to the November general election.
