Amarillo health officials announced the opening of a drive-thru COVID-19 testing facility on Friday.

According to the City of Amarillo, the facility is operated as part of a partnership between the City of Amarillo and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Potter County, the Amarillo Fire Department, and the Amarillo Police Department are also assisting in operating the facility.

Individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should call the Amarillo Public Health Department at 806-378-6300 and if symptoms warrant a test, officials say they will be directed to the drive-thru facility.

Current plans are for the facility to operate from 9AM to 4PM on weekdays, subject to the availability of tests. Public health officials plan to continue assisting callers during times when the facility is closed.
