Texas Tribune Names Thornberry Successor Race as One to Watch

A statewide publication is encouraging voters to keep their eyes on a number of contests across the state on March 3rd, including one in the Amarillo area.

The Texas Tribune released its “hotlist” of races to watch on Wednesday, with the race for the U.S. House District 13 seat listed as one of its “hotter” races. The publication said the Republican primary will be one to watch as fifteen Republican hopefuls vie to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon).

Three Democrats are also seeking the seat in their party’s primary. That race was not listed on the “hotlist.”

Early voting begins Tuesday.
