Amarillo City Council members are expected to vote on extending the longevity of the Environmental Task Force on Tuesday.

According to an agenda posted to Amarillo.gov, the City Council will discuss extending the Environmental Task Force’s lifespan, with the current sunset date for the board rapidly approaching. Under the proposed ordinance, the board will expire “upon the completion of its assigned tasks or two years after the effective date of [the] resolution.”

The Environmental Task Force was formed in 2016, following a push from then-City Councilman Mark Nair and others on the Council for the board’s creation.

A full agenda for the meeting is available at Amarillo.gov.

The meeting will begin on Tuesday, November 10, at 1pm. Due to social distancing requirements, the meeting will not be held in-person and will be broadcast over Zoom. At the time of the meeting, it can be viewed at Amarillo.gov.
