Amarillo Resident Appointed to Texas Commission on Fire Protection

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the selection of an Amarillo resident to serve on a state board.

According to Governor Abbott’s Office, Amarillo resident Paul Hamilton has been appointed to serve on the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. Hamilton works for Bushland ISD and volunteers with Potter County Fire and Rescue. Hamilton also previously served as Assistant Chief for the Hereford Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition, Abbott appointed the Panhandle’s Kelly Vandygriff to the board. Vandygriff is the Fire Chief for the Abernathy Volunteer Fire Department.

Hamilton, Vandygriff and fellow appointees Sue De Villez of Georgetown and Rusty Wilson of Katy will serve on the board through 2025.
