APD Makes Arrest Following Hit and Run Accident

Amarillo Police made an arrest following a hit-and-run accident on Friday morning.

According to APD, at 11:25AM on Friday, officers were dispatched to the area of Tascosa Road and Plum Creek on a hit-and-run accident. A white Ford F-150 has reportedly hit two cars and fled the scene. One victim was following the suspect and lost them on Westcliff. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a blue shirt, possibly armed with a gun.

Officers then observed the suspect walking in the 500 block of Tascosa Road. The suspect allegedly ran by the Happy State Bank building and into the lobby of the Amarillo National Bank location where he was taken into custody by officers at 11:41AM.

The suspect was identified as Colby Rayburn, 30, and was found to have a warrant for a Parole Violation. Rayburn was arrested for his warrant.

This investigation is ongoing.
