The City of Amarillo will be hosting a mayoral summit on homelessness later this year.
On Thursday, the City of Amarillo announced the 2019 Mayor’s Summit on Homelessness planned for the morning of July 18th at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts. The summit is expected to feature Dr. Sam Tsemberis. Tsemberis is considered to be an expert on the “Housing First” model of combating homelessness, the City says.
Summit details say the event will feature a discussion on Amarillo’s homeless population and homelessness among veterans and children.
