Local Radio Station to Broadcast Sod Poodles Games

When the Amarillo Sod Poodles begin play this year, one local radio station will be covering all of the action.

KIXZ-940AM in Amarillo will be the official radio home for Sod Poodles baseball, according to a deal announced on Tuesday. As part of the agreement, the Townsquare Media station will broadcast all home, away, and postseason games played under the Sod Poodles banner. Each game will feature a pre-show on the radio, and the broadcasts will be delivered by veteran baseball announcer Sam Levitt.

"We are really excited to partner with Townsquare Media to broadcast Sod Poodles baseball and have all of our games heard all across the Texas Panhandle and beyond," Sod Poodles president Tony Ensor said in a statement. “We have a tremendous inaugural season coming up at Hodgetown and we look forward giving Amarillo and the surrounding communities full access to pitch-by-pitch updates on our home station!”
