The first food tenant at the downtown parking garage has been granted a lease agreement by the Amarillo Local Government Corporation Board.
This week, the LGC approved an agreement to allow Joe Taco to operate a restaurant location in the retail space of the parking garage. The deal will allow Joe Taco to go rent-free for the first year after completion, with rent gradually increasing to $12 per square foot by the fourth year of the lease. Construction on the interior of the spot is expected to be completed by May 2020. The space is about 4,800 square-feet in total, according to KFDA-TV.
The parking garage is located across the street from the Hodgetown baseball stadium in downtown Amarillo.
