The Texas Department of Transportation is preparing for the possibility of winter weather this week and is warning drivers to be careful when encountering the elements.
With forecasts that snow will be hitting Amarillo on Thursday, crews in the Panhandle are preparing roads and trouble spots for winter weather. Forecasts currently have Amarillo listed at a 90 percent chance for precipitation on Thursday, with the highest chances coming between 10AM and 6PM. With this in mind, TxDOT is warning local drivers to be aware of road crews and the elements, and to drive with caution during the potential winter weather.
