Sod Poodles Trademark Owners Pick Non-Profit to Receive Shirt Proceeds

Proceeds from the Our Amarillo Sod Poodles shirts will be benefiting one local youth charity.

This week, the owners of the Amarillo Sod Poodles trademark tapped the Amarillo Activity Youth Center as the recipient of half the proceeds from the sale of Amarillo Sod Poodles merchandise. Trademark owner Dusty Green announced last month that one local charity would be selected to receive half of the proceeds, although it was not known which charity would ultimately be selected at that time.

In a press release, Green said he visited with center director Matt Hite last month, and received a tour of the non-profit’s facilities. Green says after the visit, he knew the AAYC would be the right choice for the proceeds.

“They’re doing such great work at the AAYC, despite the fact that they clearly face a number of really difficult challenges,” Green said in the release. “Hopefully through this effort we’ll be able to not only give them a little boost financially, but also get them out there more in the public eye, so that the community as a whole can learn more about the AAYC and continue to support them even long after this effort is over.”

Sod Poodles shirts will also be available at the AAYC building, the press release says.

In addition to the AAYC, one other local charity will be benefiting from the proceeds. As previously announced, the Donley County Community Fund will be receiving half of the proceeds from the sale of the shirts, as Green says all profits will go back into the community.
