Amarillo ISD Board to Interview Allen Replacement Finalists

Interviews have been scheduled for the five finalists looking to replace longtime trustee James Allen on the Amarillo Independent School District board.

On Thursday night, the Amarillo ISD Board will interview five finalists during a special meeting at the Amarillo ISD Education Support Center (7200 Interstate 40 West). No executive session items have been listed on the agenda, meaning that the interviews will likely take place in an open meeting.

As we have previously reported, trustees are currently considering five finalists to replace longtime trustee James Allen on the Amarillo ISD Board. Allen resigned earlier this year, after serving Amarillo ISD since the late 1990's.

Whoever is selected for the seat will serve until a special election is called in May, 2019. Whoever wins the special election will serve until May, 2021. The individual who holds the seat will then be eligible to seek a full four-year term on the board.

The meeting will begin at 5:30pm on Thursday, September 6th.
