Nelson Makes Trip to D.C.

Mayor Ginger Nelson is in Washington, D.C. this week, attending a conference for female mayors.

According to the City of Amarillo, Nelson is attending the Women Mayors of America Conference in Washington this week. The conference will host different mayors of multiple U.S. states who will engage on policy discussions related to federal and local functions. Speakers for the conference will include U.S. Small Business Administrator and professional wrestling magnate Linda McMahon, U.S. Second Lady Karen Pence and U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

“I am honored to be selected for an invitation to this conference,” Nelson said in a statement. “It is an opportunity to not only represent Amarillo in Washington, D.C., but to also strengthen the relationship between local government and the federal government.
