Maverick Club Students Invited to AC Program

"Amarillo College is pleased to announce that it has extended scholarships to middle-school students served by the Maverick Boys & Girls Clubs of Amarillo so they can take part in a unique summer adventure at Camp Don Harrington.

AC’s Kids College, in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America, will present Zombie Survival Camp from 8 a.m. to noon each day from July 30 to Aug. 2.

Students in grades 6 through 9 who attend the Boys & Girls Clubs (formerly Maverick Club) will be included in the fun.

All campers will receive specially equipped survival backpacks and participate in outdoor survival training at Camp Don Harrington. They also will receive tips on what to do in case of an emergency.

“We’re so thankful for the support of the Boy Scouts,” said Linda Dominguez, coordinator of Kids College. “It is with their assistance that we’re able to extend scholarships to the Boys & Girls Clubs so those kids can attend this unique, fun and informative camp.”"
