WTAMU Nursing Program Gets Online Honor

"With the growing demand of healthcare professionals, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree has become increasingly essential. Additionally, an online degree is one of the best options to continue working full-time while furthering an education, and West Texas A&M University offers one of the best according to Online Schools Center (OSC).

WTAMU has once again been included in top picks of a nationwide ranking for online degrees in health sciences. OSC, an online resource created for those interested in higher learning while maintaining a full schedule, recently released its list of top programs for 2018. Factors considered were the nature of the coursework, degree of thoroughness, financial aid and applicable educational curriculum.

Uniquely, OSC does not list institutions in order but rather grouped 20 universities together known for different strengths. WTAMU was noted for offering an interesting array of coursework that prepares students to enter the field with a broad perspective of influences, theories and practices involved in the healthcare industry with a reputable university degree.

Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and Higher Learning Commission, a degree from WTAMU is commended as one of the finest online nursing programs for curriculum flexible enough to accommodate a variety of schedules combined with reputation to take nurses to new heights.

“When you consider program quality combined with WTAMU’s price point, we obviously provide students a value in nursing education that few schools in the United States can match,” Dr. J. Dirk Nelson, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, said.

WTAMU is home to more than 10,000 students who are enrolled in one of the University’s 100 academic programs. In addition to these accolades, WTAMU has been recognized for its academic excellence by U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek and The Daily Beast."
